I still need to do a lot of cleaning up to the design here. I’m always stumbling across other blogs that look so good and I feel the need to step mine up. Its tough to put this ahead of my other work though so for now my blog really remains a work in progress.
I haven’t had a blog since college - and that was a class assignment just so we could post our homework online for review. While this will mainly function as a portfolio for my work, I’ll think hard to come up with something original to do here eventually.
So I’m back at it finally and its funny for me to look back at my original opinions of blogs. I honestly thought when they first started to emerge that their purpose rarely exceeded high schoolers writing in it like a diary and saying what music they were listening to at the time. I think it really shows my underestimation of the internet so many years ago.
I’ve always wanted to take the time to setup a blog for myself. As a web designer I refused to use a cookie-cutter site like Blogger and I’ve always enjoyed using WordPress when necessary for client work.
So briefly some info on my setup here: I am using WordPress and my theme/design is custom made and programmed. However, I used a theme called Sharpfolio as a testing ground to learn the inner workings of WordPress and how to modify it. So, I would like to credit and thank Matt at Web Revolutionary for my starting point. Sharpfolio is a great concept, and its overall simple and clear structure allowed me to learn how to customize a theme very easily.
